Vision & Dyslexia in ChildrenDyslexia is a learning disability, neurological in origin, characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. The brain's language centers are unable to efficiently decode print or phonetically make the connection between written symbols and their appropriate sounds. A child who struggles to read may be dyslexic, but similar symptoms between dyslexia and vision-related problems necessitate a comprehensive eye examination to determine the root of reading difficulties.
